David is best known as the physical form of Darth Vader in the Star Wars films A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi. He was also known in the UK as The Green Cross Code Man. He had other appearances in Sci-Fi productions including The Minotor in a 1972 Dr Who serial The Time Monster, an episode of Space 1999 and The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. Other roles included three appearances as Frankenstein's monster. As a weightlifter he has represented England in the Commonwealth Games and also helped to train Christopher Reeve for his role as Superman. |
