3rd Norwich Sci-Fi, Film, Toy and Collectors Fair: 01 November 2009
I am pleased to confirm that the 3rd Norwich Sci-Fi, Film, Toy and Collectors Fair organised by The Norwich & District Star Wars Club, took place at the University Of East Anglia, LCR, Earlham Road, Norwich on Sunday 1st November 2009. All the dealers tables were filled and fourteen guests from Star Wars, Dr Who and other film and television programmes signed autographs. Unfortunately the event was marred by horrendous weather with high winds and heavy rain and this had the effect of halving the numbers of people who came through the doors. In spite of this, the fair was the best one that the Club has ever put on. The exhibition of Star Wars and Dr Who items was amazing with a squadron of Daleks and two R2-D2 units greeting the public as they entered the hall. The Club's costume gang were resplendent with the first appearance of Steve Bell in his Boba Fett costume. Peter Bean in his Darth Vader costume was awesome and the the Millennium Falcon backdrop on the main stage showed off the display of memorabilia to its best. Nigel Pearce with his own display of Daleks cleverly used one of the cupboards adjoining the stage to lend a menacing air to the display. Our lineup of guests was excellent and represented a broad spectrum from film and television of many genres. Tim Dry and Sean Crawford were unable to attend the fair and also Phil Eason had to cancel as he is currently working abroad. the other guests were as follows :- Photos of the event are attached
