Here is the blurb from the publishers info:

Hi! Believe it or not, I'm a world famous actor. No really, I am. Hey! Don't put the book back! Let me explain ...You may not recognise my name or my face for that matter but it's very likely you've seen me at work. I've managed to cram quite a bit into my thirty-year acting career. In fact I've helped put more bums on cinema seats than Will Smith or Tom Hanks. Who else can say that they've helped destroy a Death Star? Defeated an evil sorceress? Taught magic to Harry Potter? Become a Jedi Master? Reluctantly hitchhiked across the galaxy in search of the answer to the Ultimate Question? Or embarked (six times, no less) on a psychotic killing spree as a gold-obsessed leprechaun? I've also performed in a jazz club with the late, great Ray Charles, been kicked in the head by Ricky Gervais (twenty-three times) and have successfully navigated the Peterborough one-way system on more than one occasion. You may also have noticed that, at three-foot-six, I am ever so slightly below average height. My genes are arranged in a vaguely peculiar manner, which means I have a disorder that no one can pronounce (spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita go on, try!) and very few people understand. This has thrown up its own trials and tribulations particularly when my wife and I tried to start a family but also in an everyday kind of way surviving a supermarket shopping trip, getting into fights with drunks, that sort of thing. So, without further preamble except to add that George Lucas, Carrie Fisher, Val Kilmer, Ron Howard, Ricky Gervais (amongst others) have chipped in I urge you, discerning reader, to read on and discover what life is like when it really is too short. At the very least, George Lucas will finally explain why there really is no underwear in space and who wouldn't want to know that?

Warwick A. Davis made his screen debut as Wicket the Ewok in 1983's Return of the Jedi. His extremely rare condition has led to a career as the world's leading little actor.

Ashley Hyde Appeal

We have been contacted by a charity called Families Against Neuroblastoma (FAN) about a six year old Star Wars fanatic called Ashley Hyde. He is currently battling neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. He loves Star Wars and was granted one wish last year by a charity. Unsurprisingly, he chose to be a Jedi Knight. He travelled to the US where he was inaugurated and Ashley believed being a Knight would protect him from the cancer. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and Ashley desperately needs to raise £350,000 to get him to New York for life saving treatment. All of Ashley's friends and family are urging the Star Wars community to use the force to help him raise these much needed funds.

If anyone can help, please contact Linza Corp on linzacorp@yahoo.co.uk or               01945 583610         01945 583610.

Star Wars Concert

Announcing

Star Wars: In Concert

Worldwide concert tour

Massive multi-media event features stunning visuals,
a live orchestra, choir and narration, plus an exclusive exhibit of
Star Wars costumes, props and production artwork

December 7, 2009 – Star WarsTM: In Concert, a unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams’ epic Star Wars scores, is on a worldwide concert tour.

Narrated live by Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six films), the production features the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and a choir, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen – one of the largest ever put on tour.  The live music and film elements are synchronized in order to create a full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience.

“We’ve taken the key themes from the music and cut together all the images that fit with each theme, so you can really get a sense of how the music played into the images,” said George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Saga. “The whole soundtrack is a testament to John Williams’ creativity and his extraordinary ability to enhance the emotional aspects of the films.”

“Creating the music for the Star Wars films has been an exciting and wonderful experience for me, and I therefore have derived particular pleasure in assembling a compendium of themes from all of the films to be presented in Star Wars in Concert,” said Williams. “The editors at Lucasfilm have created original film montages to accompany each of the musical selections, and in the process, I believe that a singular and unique Star Wars experience has been born.”

“This event has been crafted to present Star Wars from many points of view; for the first time, the full dramatic sweep of Williams’ iconic scores can be heard performed live in one evening,” said Another Planet Touring Producer Spencer Churchill.”The show is a new way of experiencing the epic scope of the saga.”

Accompanying the concert is an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, production artwork and specially created behind-the-scenes videos from the Lucasfilm Archives. Many of these pieces are leaving Skywalker Ranch for the first time. The exhibit features many classic fan favorite artifacts, as well as several new and never-before-seen items, including:

·         Full costumes for Jedi Masters Kit Fisto and Plo Koon will be on display.

·         For the first time ever, pages from John Williams' original hand-written sheet music for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace will be exhibited for the public.

·         Also on display will be various never-before-seen props from the films, including blasters and helmets from Coruscant, Tatooine and other iconic Star Wars locations.

For more information, please visit www.StarWarsInConcert.com.

Star Wars: In Concert is produced by Another Planet Touring in association with Lucasfilm Ltd.  Performances will be conducted by Dirk Brossé and the production is directed and designed by Steve Cohen.  Star Wars in Concert had its world premiere at the 02 Arena in London on April 10 and 11, 2009.
